Re: [ Famous Quotes ] Ancient Gnostic Wisdom

Thank you for posting these Gnostic quotes. I have studied some of these writings before, and never came upon a verse that I disagreed with. That is, until now. <g>

I do believe this to be true, but not 100%. I do believe that we can damage our spirits by our material actions, which are the only actions we can make, living in the material world.

I see the truth of the quote to mean that our spirits are not ever going away, we are always going to be with them, and them with us. When our bodies cease to function, (die), our spirit merely goes into the next lifeform. Spirit is eternal, and it is highly unlikely that we can harm it, but through actions we take repeatedly I think we might. And, according to the Bible, there is one sin that cannot be forgiven and that is to blaspheme against the Holy Spirit. So if you cannot be forgiven then I think that means you are going to perish, spirit and all.
