Strawberry Trifle Recipe

1 white cake mix or strawberry supreme cake mix 1 quart strawberries, sliced and sweetened1 box (5 oz.) vanilla pudding mix, prepared 1 8 oz. carton whipped topping 1/4 C. slivered almonds 1 jar strawberry topping

Bake cake in oblong 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan as directed on package. Cool. Cut cake crosswise in half. Reserve one-half for another dessert. Cut remaining cake into eight pieces. Split each piece horizontally. Arrange half the pieces in a two- quart glass serving bowl, cutting pieces to fit bowl. Pour one-half the strawberries with syrup over cake. Spread with one cup pudding, then drizzle some strawberry topping over. Repeat with remaining pieces, strawberries, pudding and topping. Spread Cool Whip on top and drizzle remaining topping over and sprinkle with almonds. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Serves 8 to 10.
