[ world famous recipes ] RECIPE:Bean and Pork Chop Bake

4 Boneless pork loin chops (1/2 inch thick) 1 T vegetable oil 1 large tart apple, peeled and chopped 1 small onion, chopped 1 can (28 ounce) baked beans 1/4 tsp cinnamon, divided 1 T maple pancake syrup 1/4 tsp salt

Ina a large skillet, brown pork chops on both sides in oil. Remove and keep warm. In the same pan, saute apples and onion until tender. Stir in the beans, and 1/8 tsp cinnamon. Spoon into a greased 2-1/2 quart baking dish. Top with the pork chops. Cover and bake at 350º for 40 minutes. Brush chops with syrup; sprinkle with salt and remaining cinnamon. Bake, uncovered for 5 - 10 minutes or until the meat juices run clear.
